Paradise Resort
Paradise Resort is a family-focused hotel resort on the Gold Coast that spreads across about 2.5 hectares with low-rise buildings in four themed areas. It has 360 rooms in different categories, a large waterpark play area with heated water, an outdoor adventure playground with slides and climbing structures, and multiple dining spots plus an indoor play center.
The resort has been a family favorite for over forty years and was reopened after a major renovation. New owner Dr. Jerry Schwartz invested significantly in modernizing the place, including a new bright lobby with a large aquarium and a multi-story play area.
The resort's name reflects the idea of a family escape where people can relax together. Different areas are named after friendly mascot characters, which gives the place a playful and welcoming feel that visitors notice as they explore.
The best time to visit is outside school holidays when the resort is less crowded, though it stays lively and kid-friendly year-round. The place is only a short walk from the beach and light rail, so book parking early and consider using public transport to explore the wider area.
The resort features Planet Chill, an ice-skating rink with learn-to-skate sessions and friendly fibreglass penguins to help children stay balanced, offering relief on hot days. This unexpected activity in a tropical setting is often highlighted by visitors as one of the best parts of their stay.
