Magaluf beach
Magaluf Beach is a wide sandy beach in Calvià, Mallorca, stretching more than a kilometer along the coast. The beach is flat and easy to access, with fine white sand and clear water that invites swimming. Restaurants, bars, and shops line the shore, and loungers, umbrellas, and showers are available throughout the area.
Magaluf began in the 1960s as a quiet bay and later developed into a popular tourist destination. Over the decades, the place grew into a center for nightlife and entertainment. This development made it one of the most visited beaches in Mallorca.
The name Magaluf comes from Arabic and means "port of the bay". Today, the beach is a gathering place for young visitors from around the world who come to swim and relax during the day, then party at night. The place has become a vibrant social hub where people of different backgrounds come together and spend time with one another.
The best time to visit is early in the morning or during the low season when it is less crowded. There is plenty of parking nearby, and public buses connect the beach with the city of Palma and the airport.
A distinctive feature is the small island of Sa Porrassa offshore, visible from here and giving the beach a characteristic landmark. Many visitors do not know that on calm days you can wade in or take a short boat ride there to see the surroundings from a different angle.
