Hershey Farm Inn
Hershey Farm Inn is a hotel in Strasburg Township situated on 23 acres near the Amish region of Lancaster County. The main building holds guest rooms, a large restaurant with a buffet, a smaller cafe on the second level, and multiple event spaces, while the property also features a pond, walking trails, a barn with farm animals, and playgrounds.
Hershey Farm Inn was founded in the 1970s by Edwin and Emma Hershey as a simple farmhouse with tours and a gift shop. The property expanded gradually to include a restaurant, motel, and additional buildings until a fire in 2023 destroyed the main restaurant building, which has since been completely rebuilt with a more modern design.
The inn takes its name from the Hershey family who originally developed the property as a working farm with tours and a shop. Visitors come here to experience rural Pennsylvania life and understand the traditions of the surrounding Amish community and Lancaster County culture.
The hotel offers non-smoking rooms with amenities like free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and access to on-site activities such as swimming, fishing, and animal visits. Accessible rooms with ramps, braille signage, reserved parking, and accommodations for service animals make the property welcoming for guests with varying needs.
The property includes a working farm where visitors can feed and observe friendly animals like goats and chickens, offering a hands-on connection to rural life during their stay. This chance to experience real farm animals up close sets the place apart from typical hotels and makes it particularly appealing for families.
