Arai Ryokan

The Arai Ryokan consists of 25 guest rooms distributed across private cottages, connected by wooden bridges over the Katsura River and courtyard pond.

The establishment of Arai Ryokan in 1872 marked the beginning of its journey to become a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan in the Izu region.

The ryokan maintains Japanese customs through tatami mat rooms, traditional dining services, and garden designs that incorporate seasonal elements throughout the property.

Guests can access multiple hot spring pools in the 1933 bathhouse, featuring indoor and outdoor shared baths, plus private options in selected accommodations.

The property extends across 10,000 square meters, incorporating an orchard of 3,000 plum trees and a teahouse offering views toward Mount Fuji.
