The municipal center spreads across several buildings throughout the town, with Villa Colloredo Mels housing administrative offices and museum collections. The complex also includes the MUREC museum inside Torre del Borgo, which has seven levels of exhibits.

The collections moved to Villa Colloredo Mels in 1998, leaving behind a smaller location to gain more exhibition space. This relocation allowed the institution to better present its art and archaeological holdings.

Works by Lorenzo Lotto from the Renaissance period hang here alongside other art, showing what local artists created centuries ago. You can see how the community has kept these pieces as part of its identity.

The different buildings are spread throughout the town, so it helps to check a map or plan your route in advance. The museum has many stairs and levels, so wear comfortable shoes and allow enough time to walk around.

The basement of Villa Colloredo Mels holds the Museo dell'Emigrazione Marchigiana, which tells stories of hundreds of thousands of people who left the region to build new lives elsewhere. The museum uses photographs and digital materials to bring these personal migration stories to life.
