Museo pontificio della Santa Casa, Religious art museum in Apostolic Palace, Loreto, Italy
The museum spans 2000 square meters across 30 exhibition halls, displaying religious artifacts, paintings, tapestries, and furniture from the 16th and 17th centuries.
The museum collection started in 1862 during the renovation of the Basilica by architect Giuseppe Sacconi, who gathered paintings and furnishings from the Sanctuary.
The Lorenzo Lotto room features seven paintings arranged according to the artist's original design for the Basilica choir, including a non-religious work titled Fortress.
Located on the upper floors of the western section of the Apostolic Palace, the museum operates daily from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Ten tapestries based on Raffaello's designs illustrate biblical stories from the New Testament, representing a portion of the museum's 2,000 historical objects.
