The Castle in Janowiec on the Vistula

The castle complex spans 121 by 71 meters on an irregular polygon layout, incorporating defensive elements including a dry moat and fortified towers.

Construction of the fortress began between 1508 and 1526 under Mikołaj Firlej, and remained in the Firlej family's possession for over 150 years.

The castle features architectural elements from different periods, including Renaissance and Baroque styles, with contributions from architects Santi Gucci and Tylman van Gameren.

The museum opens daily from April through September between 10:00 and 17:00, with extended hours until 19:00 during summer months.

The castle complex includes relocated historical buildings, such as an 18th-century manor house from Moniaki and a 19th-century wooden granary from Podlodów.
