Pine Cliffs Resort
Pine Cliffs Resort is a large hotel complex perched on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Albufeira, Portugal, with rooms, suites, and villas spread across many acres. The property features multiple pools, gardens, various restaurants, a golf course, spa, and tennis facilities.
The resort was purchased by a Kuwaiti family in 1992 with plans to create a special destination for guests. Beginning with a hotel and golf course, new sections and facilities were gradually added over the years.
The resort incorporates traditional Portuguese tilework in blue, white, and yellow on bed headboards, fountains, and courtyards, creating a visual connection to local craftsmanship. These design choices weave regional cultural elements throughout the grounds and interiors.
The resort has multiple restaurants located throughout the property, and it is advisable to book tables at the nicer restaurants in advance. Shuttle services to nearby towns and beaches are available, and convenient parking is provided on the grounds.
The resort sits directly above Praia da Falésia, a long sandy beach that stretches for miles and is lined with simple, cozy beach restaurants. The beach remains less crowded from above and offers a peaceful spot for swimming and listening to the waves.
