Falesia Beach

Falesia is a long beach along the Algarve coast with golden sand bordered by striking orange-colored clay cliffs that rise steeply. The cliffs define the entire coastline and create a dramatic backdrop to the shoreline.

The layers of limestone and clay were shaped over millions of years through natural erosion, creating the characteristic orange cliffs. This geological process continues to influence the coast's appearance today.

Fishermen still work in the area of Olhos de Água, keeping alive traditional practices that have been passed down for generations.

The beach is accessible at three main points: Olhos de Água, Vilamoura, and Açoteias, with the largest free parking area near Açoteias. In good conditions, visitors can walk along the entire stretch to explore different sections.

Despite its great length, this beach remains uncrowded even during busy seasons because visitors can easily find quieter sections by walking away from parking areas. A short walk from the main entry points often reveals peaceful spots far from the crowds.
