Praia dos Alemães

Praia dos Alemães is a beach along the Albufeira coast that stretches about 500 meters with golden sand framed by tall sandstone cliffs. The shore faces the Atlantic Ocean and is easily accessible from the city above through stairs or sloped paths.

The name comes from a fish canning factory that once operated nearby in the early 1900s and was run by a German family. This industrial past gave the place its distinctive name that remains today.

The beach draws both local residents and visitors who share the same stretch of sand and water. You will notice families, couples, and groups spending their days here, creating a blend of everyday beach life and seasonal tourism.

At low tide, you can walk across connected sand areas linking this beach to nearby shores and explore a longer stretch of coastline. This hidden walking route only appears when water levels drop, creating a temporary path that changes with the tides.
