Praia dos Olhos de Água

Praia dos Olhos de Água is a small sandy cove nestled between ochre-colored cliffs in Albufeira. Clear waters meet the shore where fishing boats rest and beachfront restaurants serve regional seafood dishes.

This location began as a small fishing settlement and gradually became a popular coastal destination over recent decades. Yet fishing traditions have remained central to its identity and continue to shape the cove today.

Local fishermen work from this cove in the early hours, delivering their catch directly to nearby restaurants throughout the day. The beach retains its character as an active fishing community despite its popularity with visitors.

This cove offers sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, and parking facilities with direct access to waterfront restaurants. The beach is well-equipped for visitors, though the stairs down to the sand can be steep in places.

Fresh water springs bubble up through the sand at low tide, creating small pools that inspired the beach's name, meaning Eyes of Water. This geological feature appears only at certain times and adds a surprising element to a visit.
