The structure, built in 1911 as a county jail, transformed into a museum space in 1979 when the Gallatin Historical Society moved into two rooms.
The museum holds 20,000 historical photographs, extensive research materials, family histories, and newspapers documenting the Gallatin Valley community through generations.
Museum admission costs $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and military personnel, $5 for ages 6-17, with free entry for children under 5.
The museum maintains original jail cells, exhibits the Big Horn Gun, and features a full-size Pioneer cabin among its permanent displays.
