Glockenhütte
Glockenhütte is a mountain restaurant in Reichenau offering traditional Austrian country-style cooking made with local ingredients. It has 160 indoor seats and a large outdoor terrace with space for 140 guests overlooking the Nockberge mountains.
The lodge is the highest mountain restaurant in the Nockberge area, serving hikers and visitors for many years as a key stop in the region. It has become an established part of local hospitality traditions.
The lodge takes its name from the wish bell, which visitors ring to make a wish and connect with local traditions. This simple ritual creates a meaningful moment that many travelers include in their visit.
The restaurant opens from May through October and sits on the scenic Nockalmstrasse route with ample parking. Bring a light layer even on warm days, as the altitude keeps temperatures cool.
Next to the restaurant is a market where local farmers sell homemade products like cheese, jam, and regional specialties made on nearby farms. This direct connection to local agriculture adds an authentic touch to the visit.
