The Crafty Squire is a two-level pub restaurant located at 127 Russell Street in Melbourne's central business district. It houses a working microbrewery, a dining area, and a bar all within the same space.
The restaurant opened in 2015 on the site of the former Portland Hotel. Since then it has become an established dining destination in central Melbourne.
The restaurant incorporates elements of Australian brewing traditions through its James Squire Brewhouse, offering beer-paired meals and regular trivia nights.
The venue is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 11 PM, Friday and Saturday until 1 AM, and Sunday until 10 PM. The central location makes it easy to reach and convenient for both lunch and dinner visits.
This is the only working brewery in Melbourne's central business district, producing craft beers on-site that visitors can watch being made. The beers available here cannot be found elsewhere in the city.
