Flat Branch Pub, American restaurant in downtown Columbia, United States.
Flat Branch Pub is an American restaurant in downtown Columbia, Missouri, set inside a brick building from 1927. The interior keeps its industrial character with exposed beams and a long bar, and an outdoor beer garden extends the seating to the open air.
The building started as a Studebaker car dealership in the early 1900s and was later repurposed over the decades. It reopened as a brewpub in 1994, becoming the first place in Columbia to brew beer on the premises in over 150 years.
The name refers to Flat Branch Creek, a small waterway that once ran through this part of Columbia. The beer served here is brewed on site, which gives the place a local character that visitors can taste directly in the glass.
The pub is open daily through lunch and into the late evening, so it works well for either a midday meal or a night out. The space is fully accessible, and the outdoor beer garden is a good option when the weather is warm.
Bread and desserts are baked in-house every day, giving the food a homemade quality that stands out on the menu. Dishes like chargrilled romaine salad, catfish and chips, and bratwurst with sauerkraut appear regularly and show the range of the kitchen.
