Plage du Débarquement, Coastal landing beach in Saint-Raphaël, France
The beach extends for 500 meters along the Mediterranean coast, featuring a combination of sand and pebbles with clear waters near the shore.
On August 15, 1944, the beach served as a landing site for 20,000 soldiers from the 36th Texas Division of the US Army during World War II.
The memorial esplanade displays an authentic US landing barge and a commemorative stele honoring the soldiers who participated in the 1944 operation.
The beach offers numerous facilities including lifeguard services, restrooms, outdoor showers, and a parking area accommodating over 200 vehicles.
From the sandy rest area shaded by maritime pines, visitors can observe the Ile d'Or and the red rocks characteristic of the Estérel region.
