Golf de Cherbourg, Golf course in La Glacerie, France.
Golf de Cherbourg is a 9-hole course spanning around 64 hectares in La Glacerie, set among woodlands and flowering rhododendrons. The layout features tight fairways and greens positioned at varying elevations throughout the property.
The course was designed and built in 1973 by architect Jean Bourret. In 2002, the city of Cherbourg-Octeville acquired the property from a Belgian investor and took over its management.
The club brings together local players who gather at the clubhouse to share their experiences after playing. This meeting space has become a social hub for the golfing community in the region.
The course operates Tuesday through Sunday from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM with 18 practice stalls available for players of all levels. The wooded setting means comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are wise choices.
Views of Cherbourg harbor are visible from parts of the course, providing unexpected vistas during play. The grounds are surrounded by the historic woods of Village des Verriers, which give the location a distinctive character.
