Animaux de la ferme, Petting zoo in Le Bugue, France.
Animaux de la ferme houses more than one hundred domestic animals including chickens, pigs, donkeys, sheep, goats, ducks, and rabbits, each kept in separate wooden enclosures across the grounds. The layout allows visitors to walk around and encounter the different species in their designated spaces.
It began as a local effort to introduce children to farm life and animal care. Over time, dedicated animal spaces were developed to provide hands-on experiences for visitors of all ages.
French farming traditions come to life as children participate in morning feeding sessions, learning about agricultural practices and animal care responsibilities.
The place opens at 9:30 AM during summer months and supplies metal buckets for visitors to feed animals using food provided on site. Morning visits tend to be best when the animals are most active and responsive.
Each animal resident carries its own name and distinct character, such as Lapino the black goat or Geronimo the large duck. These personal touches help visitors form genuine bonds with the creatures they encounter.
