Wildlife Park, Zoo in Ir-Rabat, Malta
Wildlife Park is a zoo in Ir-Rabat housing several large enclosures where bears, lions, tigers, pumas, leopards, and primates live alongside numerous bird species. The facilities are designed to provide natural environments for the animals to move and behave as they would in the wild.
The facility started as a small family-run educational center and gradually transformed into a center focused on protecting Mediterranean animal species. Over time, conservation and research became its main mission.
The park displays animals native to the Mediterranean region, allowing visitors to learn about local wildlife and observe their natural behaviors up close. The enclosures are designed so you can watch how these species move and interact throughout your visit.
The grounds are walkable and the enclosures are connected by paved paths, making it easy to move between different areas. Wear comfortable shoes and allow plenty of time to explore all the animal habitats without rushing through your visit.
Betty the bear has her own swimming pool within her specialized habitat, where you can watch her natural swimming behaviors throughout the day. Her aquatic skills and how she uses the water make her one of the most watched residents at the facility.
