Dino Parc, Theme park in Râșnov, Romania
Dino Parc is an outdoor theme park in Râșnov, Romania, set on roughly four hectares next to the Râșnov Fortress. It features over 100 life-size dinosaur models made from fiberglass, alongside a 9D cinema, a laser maze, adventure trails, and a playground with treehouses.
Dino Parc opened in Râșnov and quickly became the largest dinosaur theme park in Eastern Europe. The site grew gradually, with new models and attractions added over time to keep returning visitors engaged.
The park hosts a painting workshop where children can decorate plaster figures and take home a souvenir they made themselves. This hands-on corner shows how the park is used as much for making things as for looking at them.
The park is entirely outdoors, so sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are a good idea, as some paths can be uneven. Strollers can be tricky on parts of the trail, so families with very young children should keep that in mind.
Among the models on display is a replica of Hatzegopteryx thambema, the largest flying animal ever found, which lived in what is now Romania. Fossils of this species were discovered in the Hațeg region, giving the model a direct link to the local prehistoric past.
