Valea Cetatii Cave

Valea Cetatii Cave is a show cave near Rasnov featuring accessible passages and chambers that wind through the underground. The interior maintains a constant cool temperature throughout the year.

The cave was discovered in 1949 when flooding exposed the entrance for the first time. Local youth began exploring the underground system not long after.

The Great Hall serves as a natural concert venue, with the Brasov Philharmonic performing the first underground musical event in 2011.

Access is by way of maintained paths that are easy to walk and lead through the main areas. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the ground can be uneven in places.

The floor features sturdy plastic walkways that are not permanently fixed and can be completely removed later. This approach protects the natural surface and shows how caves can welcome visitors without causing harm.
