Historic Banning Mills
Historic Banning Mills is an adventure and recreation park in Carroll County featuring expansive woodland terrain with multiple outdoor activities and facilities. The property includes zip-lining courses, hiking trails, a climbing tower, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, miniature golf, and accommodations ranging from cabins to treehouses.
The site was once a working community where mills powered by water served the settlement's needs. Today, ruins of the paper mill and other structures recall this industrial past, while trails preserve routes used by Creek Indians and early settlers.
The site serves as a gathering place where families and groups connect with the outdoors and each other through shared activities. Visitors experience the landscape while discovering stories about the region's past and the wildlife that inhabits it.
The park is located about 45 minutes from Atlanta and welcomes both day visitors and overnight guests with various accommodation options. Visitors should wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes, as most activities take place outdoors and trails are uneven in places.
The park holds two Guinness World Records, one for the longest zip-line course and another for the tallest freestanding climbing wall, making it exceptional for adventure seekers. These records give visitors the chance to experience something truly remarkable during their stay.
