Sweetwater Creek State Park

The park covers 2,549 acres of natural space along Sweetwater Creek, featuring wooded paths, rocky bluffs, and the George Sparks Reservoir for outdoor activities.

The New Manchester Manufacturing Company textile mill ruins remain as evidence of Civil War destruction when Union forces burned the facility in 1864.

The park's visitor center presents exhibits about local wildlife, regional history, and indigenous plants through educational displays and guided nature programs.

Visitors can rent fishing boats, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and pedal boats during warm months, with electric motors permitted for private watercraft.

The park maintains fifteen miles of hiking trails through diverse terrain, connecting historic mill ruins with natural rapids and forest landscapes.
