Blue Hawk, Steel roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, United States.
Blue Hawk is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia featuring five inversions across its track. The ride sends you through a butterfly loop, a reverse sidewinder, and a double corkscrew that make up the core of the experience.
The coaster debuted in 1984 at Conko's Party Pier in New Jersey before relocating to Six Flags Over Georgia in 1992. It received its Blue Hawk name in 2016 following a public vote to choose a new identity.
The 2016 renovation included military-themed elements and a public naming contest where visitors selected Blue Hawk as the new identity.
Each train holds 28 riders in specially designed cars with soft vest restraints for safety throughout the ride. The attraction operates during regular park hours and delivers a complete circuit in roughly 80 seconds.
The ride climbs to a height of roughly 37 meters before plunging down 33 meters at a steep angle. This sharp initial drop creates an intense opening moment that catches many riders by surprise.
