Great American Scream Machine, Wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, United States

The Great American Scream Machine is a wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia. It features multiple steep drops and sharp turns that take riders on a thrilling journey through the park.

The coaster opened in 1973 as the world's tallest, longest, and fastest wooden roller coaster at that time. Its early records established it as a landmark achievement in roller coaster engineering.

The American Coaster Enthusiasts organization designated this roller coaster as a landmark in 2017 for its historical importance and maintenance standards.

The ride operates regularly with multiple trains throughout the day to accommodate visitors. Guests should wear secure clothing and follow all safety instructions before boarding.

The ride has operated backwards on special anniversaries, giving passengers an entirely different view of the track and drops. These special runs turned the familiar journey into a fresh experience for returning visitors.
