Roscoe-Dunaway Gardens Historic District, Historic district with rock gardens in Coweta County, United States.
The district contains seventy-nine buildings, two additional structures, spring-fed pools, and a waterfall spread across granite formations and floral gardens.
Hetty Jane Dunaway managed the construction of these gardens over eighteen years, opening them in 1934 as a performing arts training center.
The gardens included a thousand-seat amphitheater where theater professionals trained and performed, attracting visitors like Walt Disney and Tallulah Bankhead.
The Bigham family reopened the restored gardens to visitors in 2003, allowing access to the uncovered historical features and architectural elements.
Workers created the swimming pool by detonating explosives in solid granite, forming a natural basin within the rock formation.
