Legoland Florida Water Park, Water park in Winter Haven, US
Legoland Florida Water Park is a water park within the Legoland Florida Resort in Winter Haven, Florida, designed as a separate section of the larger resort complex. It features water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and splash areas, all organized around the colorful block-building theme of the resort.
The water park opened in 2012 as an addition to Legoland Florida, which had itself opened on the grounds of the former Cypress Gardens theme park. Adding a water park allowed the resort to offer more during Florida's long, hot summers.
The park draws mostly families with young children who spend the day moving between water slides and splash zones designed around block-building themes. The mood is relaxed and playful, with kids often stopping to handle plastic blocks near the water.
The water park is accessible only through the main resort entrance, so plan to enter through Legoland Florida itself. Bringing a towel and sun protection is a good idea, as most of the park is open to the sky and the Florida sun is strong throughout the day.
The Build-a-Raft River lets visitors snap plastic blocks onto their float while drifting along the current, which means each rider ends up with a small creation by the end of the ride. This combination of water and building is something rarely found in other water parks.
