Vuadomo Waterfall, Natural waterfall in Cakaudrove, Fiji.

Vuadomo Waterfall is a waterfall in Cakaudrove, Fiji, that flows into a deep turquoise pool surrounded by thick rainforest vegetation. The cascade drops from above and creates a natural swimming area where the water remains cool and clear throughout the day.

The waterfall has long been controlled by local tribes who have regulated access through customary practices passed down over generations. This stewardship has shaped how the community relates to the site and maintains its cultural importance.

Visitors are invited to participate in the sevusevu ceremony with the village chief, offering kava root as a sign of respect before entering the area. This ritual shows how the community treats the place as a sacred space that requires proper acknowledgment.

To visit the area, you need to obtain permission from local authorities beforehand and prepare for a twenty-minute walk through the forest from Vuadomo Village. The site is easiest to access early in the day when forest paths are dry and walkable.

At the base of the waterfall, local children gather river seeds to craft handmade necklaces that they create and sell. This practice reveals how the community transforms natural materials from the area into items that support their livelihoods.
