Cascades de Faaone

Cascades de Faaone features two separate waterfalls approximately 10 meters tall located on Tahiti's eastern coast. Mountain slopes and thick jungle vegetation surround the falls, creating a secluded rainforest setting.

The waterfalls were created through volcanic activity that shaped Tahiti's landscape over thousands of years. Local people have long depended on this site as a freshwater source for survival and daily needs.

The name Faaone means 'place of moving water' in the Polynesian language, showing how local people have always valued this water source.

The hike to the falls requires sturdy hiking shoes and plenty of drinking water, since the trail crosses jungle terrain and steep sections. Starting early in the morning helps you avoid afternoon heat and have more time to explore the area comfortably.

A series of natural swimming holes are scattered along the hiking trail, spaced roughly 20 minutes apart on foot. These hidden pools offer cool refreshment and allow visitors to experience the landscape at a slower pace.
