La Maison du Paréo, Fabric art workshop in Parea, French Polynesia
La Maison du Paréo contains three separate modules, with two buildings along the coast for retail and customization, and one on a nearby motu for workshops.
The establishment maintains traditional Polynesian fabric painting methods through generations of family ownership and local artisan involvement in Huahine.
Artists at the workshop demonstrate traditional techniques of creating pareos, teaching visitors the methods of hand-painting designs on fabric materials.
The facility operates daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, offering pareos in various sizes, including children's versions starting at 2000 Francs and adult pieces up to 7000 Francs.
Visitors can participate in personalized workshops to design and paint their own pareos while learning directly from local artisans in an oceanfront setting.
