Pont levant Jehan Ango

The Pont Levant Jehan Ango connects both sides of Dieppe's port with its central lifting mechanism that allows larger vessels to pass underneath.

Built in 1950, this bridge replaced the former Pont Duquesne, also known as Pont de la Poissonnerie, which was destroyed during the 1944 Liberation bombings.

Named after a Renaissance maritime trader from Dieppe, this bridge represents the continuous connection between the city and its naval activities.

The bridge operates continuously throughout the day and night, serving both vehicle and pedestrian traffic while maintaining access to maritime vessels.

The mechanical lift system of the bridge raises its central span vertically, creating a clear waterway for boats without rotating or tilting structures.
