Portail de la Chocolaterie

The Portail de la Chocolaterie is the entrance gate of the former Poulain chocolate factory on Rue de la Chocolaterie and marks access to a large industrial complex. The gate displays typical 19th-century architecture with decorative elements that reflect the important role this factory played in the town.

The factory was founded in 1862 and played a central role in Blois for over a century. After the site closed in 1991, the grounds were adapted for new uses while the historic gate was preserved.
