Plage de la Gravette

Plage de la Gravette is a public beach in Antibes' old town with soft white sand nestled in a sheltered cove along the Mediterranean coast. The shore faces the port where large yachts are moored and ancient stone walls form the backdrop.

The beach sits within 16th-century fortifications that once protected the city from naval attacks. Its location within these ancient defenses shaped how the beach is built and bordered today.

Local people come here throughout the year to swim and then walk to nearby markets for shopping and socializing. This everyday use gives the beach a genuine character that feels lived-in rather than staged.

Fresh water showers and public restrooms are built into the surrounding stone walls for visitor convenience. During summer months lifeguards are stationed at the beach for safety.

Iron gates built into the medieval fortifications control access and close each evening at 8 PM. These same gates also remain shut during harsh winter weather to protect the beach.
