Camping Le Capeyrou, Riverside campground in Beynac-et-Cazenac, France.
Camping Le Capeyrou is a riverside campsite along the Dordogne with about 120 pitches separated by natural hedges. The grounds spread across five hectares beneath tall limestone cliffs.
The campground sits at the base of Beynac Castle, a medieval fortress built between the 12th and 17th centuries. It was an important stronghold of the Barons of Périgord.
The campsite sits below the medieval village with its stone buildings and narrow streets that visitors can explore on foot. Local food vendors visit the grounds regularly to sell regional specialties.
The site has two sanitary blocks with individual showers, family rooms, and laundry services. It operates from April through September.
Each pitch offers direct views of the castle perched high above the river. Visitors can rent canoes to paddle the Dordogne and see the fortress from the water.
