Jardin Public

The Jardin Public is a municipal park in Châteauroux covering several hectares with mature trees, flower beds, and paved pathways for walking. The open lawns provide space to sit and rest while mature trees create shaded areas throughout the grounds.

The park was established in the 18th century during Châteauroux's urban expansion when French municipalities began creating public green spaces for their residents. It emerged from the idea that cities needed open areas for people to gather and find respite.
