Нептун, Water park and fitness complex in Petropavl, Kazakhstan
Neptun is a water and fitness complex in Petropavl, Kazakhstan, with several swimming pools, water slides, Turkish baths, Finnish saunas, and a gym area. The building is organized across multiple floors, with separate zones for children and adults clearly laid out throughout the space.
The complex opened in November 2012 as the first large indoor water facility in the Petropavl region. Before it opened, the city had no comparable indoor recreational water space, making its arrival a turning point for residents.
At the entrance stands a sculpture of Captain Vrungel, a character from a Soviet animated series that many local visitors remember from childhood. This reference to shared popular culture gives the place a playful tone that families tend to appreciate when they arrive.
The complex is located in central Petropavl and is easy to reach from most parts of the city. It is a good idea to bring your own swimwear and towel, as rental options may be limited on busy days.
The complex has four water slides that each reach 20 meters in height (about 65 feet), which is unusually tall for an indoor facility in this part of the world. Alongside these, ten hydromassage units and four jacuzzis make it one of the more thoroughly equipped leisure complexes in northern Kazakhstan.
