Saint George Beach

Saint George Beach stretches for about one kilometer along the southwestern coast of Naxos with golden sand and shallow waters. The seafloor slopes gently, allowing swimmers of all abilities to find suitable depths and calm areas throughout most of the shore.

This bay was once a secluded and quiet place before Naxos became a tourist destination in the 1970s. Infrastructure gradually developed to handle growing visitor numbers and transformed it into one of the island's most popular beaches.

The beach serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors mix throughout the summer months, especially during organized sporting events. You can observe the relaxed pace of island life as families and friends spend time together by the water.

The beach sits just a short walk from the port and offers rental equipment, restaurants, and cafes right on the sand. Visit in early morning or late afternoon to avoid crowds and enjoy calmer conditions.

The southern section experiences consistent wind patterns that attract windsurfers and kitesurfers from across the island. Experienced riders seek out this area specifically because of the steady breeze conditions.
