Tanane Beach

Tanane Beach is a sandy Atlantic shore in Morocco that stretches for several kilometers, with dune systems forming a natural boundary between ocean and inland areas. Behind the beach lies flat terrain that shows clearly how the shore marks the edge between water and land.

The Atlantic coast in this area was settled by Berber people more than 2000 years ago, and traces of their settlements remain visible in the Tamri region today. This early occupation shows that the coastal strip has long been an important place for human settlement.

Local fishermen work here using methods passed down through generations, and their presence shapes daily life along the shore. Their wooden boats and nets are part of what visitors naturally notice when walking along the coast.

The beach is accessible via a track from National Route 1, which connects Agadir and Essaouira and provides straightforward access. Free parking is available directly on the sand, making a visit easy to arrange.

The Taboga Dunes behind the shore offer conditions for sandboarding and other activities on the slopes. The water here maintains good waves throughout the year, which explains why surfers visit this coast.
