Olhão Garden

Olhão Garden is a maintained park in Agadir with wooden pathways, marble benches, and water features set among Mediterranean plants. The site also includes an exhibition space displaying historical documents and photographs.

After a major earthquake in 1960 destroyed much of Agadir, the Portuguese city of Olhão provided reconstruction support. The garden was established in 1992 to commemorate this act of solidarity.

The garden honors a Portuguese city's generosity through its design and naming, reflecting this international friendship. Visitors can see traces of this connection woven throughout the architectural details.

The garden is open afternoon hours from Tuesday through Sunday with parking available on site. Plan your visit to arrive early in the afternoon if you want to spend several hours exploring.

The garden blends Berber and Portuguese design traditions in its artistic elements and structures in an uncommon way. This mixing of two different cultural approaches in one space creates something that feels unexpected.
