El huerto de las flores is a botanical garden housing over one hundred tropical species gathered from around the world. The collection includes rare trees such as macadamia and camphor, along with various fruit-bearing plants.

The De Armas family founded this garden in the late 1800s, using their international business connections to acquire plants from around the globe. Family members and friends continued to bring new specimens back from their travels over many decades.

The place became a gathering spot where local poets and writers found inspiration among the plants over generations. This role as a creative refuge continues to shape how people experience the garden today.

The grounds are easy to walk through with paths connecting different plant sections. Arriving early helps you enjoy the space comfortably, as it can get crowded later in the day, especially on weekends.

Each plant in the collection carries its own story tied to a journey or a traveler who brought it back. This living record of personal journeys makes the garden more than just a collection of species.
