White Sand Beach, Beach in Koh Chang, Thailand
White Sand Beach is a sandy shore on the western side of Koh Chang with fine white sand and coconut palms lining the waterfront. The seafloor slopes gently, making it suitable for swimmers of different levels, and small establishments dot the area behind the shore.
The beach was discovered by early travelers in the 1970s and gradually transformed into a tourist destination over the following decades. This growth brought accommodations and dining establishments that continue to shape the area today.
Local fishermen maintain their traditional practices along the shore, selling fresh catches directly to beachfront restaurants and visitors each morning.
The beach is most easily reached by ferry from Trat mainland to Koh Chang followed by a short taxi ride. Early morning hours tend to be quieter and offer better conditions for swimming and exploring the shore.
During low tide, natural rock pools form near the shore where visitors can spot starfish, small fish, and other marine life without swimming far out. These shallow, warm pools offer a safe way to observe ocean creatures up close.
