Ao Phrao

Ao Phrao is a sandy beach on the eastern shore of Ko Kut with coconut palms lining the back and rock formations at one end. The water is calm and shallow throughout most of the beach, making it accessible for swimming and wading year-round.

The beach has been part of the island's fishing life for generations, with local families relying on its waters and shoreline since the 1800s. The area has remained largely unchanged, maintaining its role as a working fishing beach.

Local fishermen gather at sunrise near the wooden pier to prepare their boats and nets, maintaining centuries-old fishing techniques.

Speedboats depart from mainland Trat to reach the beach in around 90 minutes, with multiple services daily. The shoreline is easy to enter from the water, though shade is limited, so bringing sun protection helps during the day.

Rock formations at the beach's northern end create a sheltered pool that stays calm even during rough conditions. This rocky area offers hidden spots to explore and is especially worth visiting for photographs.
