Klong Chao Beach

Klong Chao Beach is a sandy stretch along the western coast of Ko Kut island, with clear turquoise waters and tall palms lining the shoreline. The beach extends for several kilometers and connects small coves with gently sloping bottoms that gradually deepen into the sea.

This beach served as a trading hub in the 19th century, where local fishermen connected with merchants traveling between Siam and Cambodia. The location's position made it valuable for exchanging goods across the region.

The beach is home to fishing communities who maintain their traditional ways, with boats landing daily catches that reflect centuries of local maritime knowledge. This living heritage shapes the rhythm of life along the shore and connects visitors to the rhythms of working coastal communities.

The beach is best reached by speedboat from the Trat mainland coast, with the journey taking around 90 minutes from departure points. Regular services operate and offer a straightforward way to reach the island.

A natural freshwater stream flows directly into the sea here, creating a rare meeting point where saltwater and freshwater ecosystems coexist. This mixing zone allows visitors to witness species from both environments living in close proximity.
