Lac biotope de Combloux

This ecological lake spans approximately 1,900 square meters with naturally filtered water reaching temperatures up to 26°C, featuring four swimming lanes and mountain views of Mont Blanc.

Established in 2002, this facility became France's first ecological swimming lake, pioneering natural water treatment methods without chemical interventions in alpine recreational spaces.

The site represents French commitment to environmental sustainability in tourism, hosting summer concerts and cultural events while promoting ecological awareness through educational programs.

Open July through August from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with extended Tuesday hours until 8:30 PM, requiring advance reservations and limiting daily capacity to 800 visitors.

Over ten aquatic plant species naturally filter the water through biological processes, creating a chemical-free swimming environment that supports local wildlife including Alpine newts and dragonflies.
