Rio Calma Artificial Beach

Rio Calma Artificial Beach is a man-made swimming area in Costa Calma with fine sand and shallow water that slopes gently. Breakwaters shield the waters from strong currents and rough conditions, creating calm swimming conditions.

This beach was created in the 1990s to meet growing tourism demand along Fuerteventura's coast. The project transformed this section from a natural coast into a managed recreation area.
