Sumur Tiga Beach

Sumur Tiga Beach is a coastal area on the eastern side of Weh Island where soft white sand meets clear waters, backed by forested hills and tropical vegetation. The shoreline varies in character depending on tides and wind patterns.

The name comes from three natural freshwater wells that locals historically relied on for water, even though the location borders the sea. These wells were crucial for settlement and survival in the area.

The shore holds meaning for fishing communities who have organized their daily routines around the sea for generations, shaping how the place feels.

The location is roughly 20 minutes by car from Balohan harbor, and various lodging options sit directly along the shore. Visitors should plan around morning and afternoon conditions, which significantly affect what is possible to do.

The beach displays striking differences between morning and afternoon conditions: strong waves appear in early hours suitable for wave riders, while calmer waters develop by afternoon. These daily shifts mean different visitors find the place suited to their interests at different times.
