Pakiri Beach

Pakiri Beach is a sand beach in the Auckland Region that stretches along the coast with white sand and clear water. Green hills and native plants frame the shoreline naturally.

The area takes its name from a Ngāti Wai chief and hosted a kauri timber mill at the river mouth during the 1800s. This industry shaped local development for many years.

The Ngāti Manuhiri iwi maintains deep roots in this coastal area, where generations gathered and lived along the shore. You can sense this heritage in the landscape and the way the community connects to the beach.

The beach is located north of Auckland and is accessible by car or bus, with adequate parking and a holiday park offering various accommodations. Conditions suit surfing, swimming, and camping, so pack appropriate gear depending on the season.
