Warkworth 30m Radio Telescope

Warkworth 30m Radio Telescope is a large radio antenna located at a research observatory north of Auckland. The installation uses a wheel-and-track system and can receive signals across multiple frequency bands for astronomical observations.

The facility was manufactured in 1983 and commissioned in 1984 by the New Zealand Post Office for satellite telecommunications. It originally served to maintain communication links with Pacific island nations through geostationary satellites.
