Plage des Capucins

Plage des Capucins stretches along the Mediterranean coast and features fine gravel and sand with views of the Green Island and Eagle's Beak rock formations. The shoreline offers a gentle descent into the water, making it welcoming for swimmers of different abilities.

The beach takes its name from the adjacent Capucins port, which has served local maritime activities since the development of La Ciotat's coastal infrastructure. This connection to the sea shaped the area's identity over many generations.

The beach is organized into separate activity zones, including a volleyball court near Place Toche and dedicated areas for water sports enthusiasts. This layout allows different visitor groups to enjoy their activities side by side without interfering with each other.

Two free showers and public restrooms are available, with lifeguards stationed during summer months. Several restaurants sit within easy walking distance of the beach.

A designated section between the seawall and Villa des Tours permits dogs on leashes, making it one of the few dog-friendly beaches in the area. This small zone gives pet owners a place to swim without leaving their companions behind.
