Middle Beach
Middle Beach is a sandy beach on the coast of Cornwall, England, with pale sand and a gentle slope toward the sea. Rock formations border the edges of the beach, and at low tide small pools are exposed among them.
The Cornish coastline was carved over centuries by tides, storms, and erosion, producing the coves and rock shapes visible today. This stretch of coast was used for fishing and small-scale maritime trade long before it became a destination for visitors.
Middle Beach draws locals who prefer a stretch of coast without beach bars or rental services, giving it a more personal feel. On calm days, you might find families with children exploring the rocks or dog walkers moving along the shoreline at their own pace.
The beach is reached by a footpath from a nearby village, and sturdy shoes are helpful for the descent. There are no facilities on site, so carrying water, food, and sun protection is a good idea before heading down.
Middle Beach sits between two other coves and can be reached on foot from either of them at low tide, making it a natural stopping point on a longer coastal walk. Timing the visit with the tide is part of the experience, since the routes between beaches close again as the water returns.
